DESCRIPTION

This is a beautiful Zenith Compax Chronograph from the early 1940ties, that means this watch is well over 80 years old. This watch was completely serviced, the Zenith calibre 156 (Martel) is running flawlessly and comes with 2 years warranty. Keeping good time and chronograph functions work as designed. Main attraction on this watch, together with the fabulous case are the original dial and hands. Dial is still in very nice condition, given the fact this watch is over 80 years old and has been worn with love throughout its life, showing nice and honest patina. Most of the time dials on these chronographs are refinished, because of the fact the pushers and crown have no seals in them, dust and water/humidity easily find a way inside the movement/watch and it's dial.  Then the case, a true masterpiece of the famous case manufacturer at the time, Henri Jeanneret, located at Peseux, Switzerland, they made gold watch cases for Zenith, Universal Genève among others. Correct "166" hallmark stamp/hammer are both still visible. We see case wears reference number 12517, indicating it's a gold chronograph with caliber 156. Serial number puts this watch in the early 40-ties. Finding a watch like this one, with its original dial is not something you come across every day. There's a fresh correct plexi fitted. Case has been lightly refreshed as well. Original pushers and crown still there, which is also amazing! Comes on a tan brown calfskin strap with gold plated buckle.
